Klé slim tapered jeans are designed with the modern man in mind. We sought inspiration in the elegant structure of the Black Castle, which stands tall in the city of Matsue, Japan. This poignant example of architecture is made up of dynamic and complex shapes that are painted in dark hues. We hoped to emulate the powerful lines and solemnity of the iconic structure. We selected a denim color and stitching that suggest a similar tone on tone aesthetic and that is comparable to that of the Black Castle. We wanted to put forth a slim cut that is both serious and sophisticated.
The Matsue cut is made from premium 14.5 oz Kuroki selvedge denim, woven with care on vintage shuttle looms in the Okayama prefecture in Japan. This cut features a lower rise than the Tokyo and sits square on the hips. The leg is slimmer from the thigh down to create a clean and modern line. This cut is intended to cater to the everyday man – from office business casual to effortless weekend style.
